I want to build a wah pedal, but use a LFO to control the sound. Anyone could suggest a LFO with a LED, to use with a LDR as a variable resistor?

Mike Nichting

Hey Marcos,
Email me and I will send you a LFO circuit.

Thanks, Mike. This will help a lot.

hey marcos!
i really recommend extracting the LFO from the Tremulus Lune.
It is VERY VERY flexible, has a bunch of options and is opted for the LED-LDR use.
Just search the web for 3ms pedals and look for their KITS section. They have ALL their schems online and available to all.

Hey Marcos!
Coincidentally, I just breadboarded exactly what you are asking about. I'm controlling the Soul Kiss with the LFO from the Tremulus Lune, using a VTL5C3. Sounds pretty cool!

The LFO that Mike tell me to use is the auxiliar LFO in the mods page of Tremulus Lune. Hey Charlie, how the Soul Kiss sounds? Will be cool if you make a page for this effect in your site. Did you tried to control the effect with the mouth, like the original one?

moosapotamus

No, I didn't try sticking an LDR in my mouth to control the Soul Kiss. :P But, I'm sure it would work. I also haven't gotten into building any other wah effects, yet, so I can't really compare it to anything.

But, I can tell you the schematic is good (it works), and it sounds pretty good to me. The Q control works like a resonance control.

I'm still messin' with it. But, I'll post a page on my site when it's done. 8)

Thanks. When you add the page, let me know.
