tubescreamer and ruby in same enclosure.

hey, I'm trying to build a ruby amp with a built in tube screamer. I have them both breadboarded now, and when I try to run them off the same regulated 12v power supply, I get a major reduction in volume, even with the tube screamer's volume at max. How could I run them both at the same time without the volume suck, and without 2 seperate power chords?

Do they work when using separate supplies and running the TS in the Ruby?
Are the voltages the same runnig separate as wehn run on the same PS?
