Eagle and the May Queen questions

Sounds like some kind of prog rock song title, doesn't it?
Hi everyone, just a couple of quick questions.  I'm really interested in building the Runoffgroove May Queen, and I was trying my hand with Eagle last night.  I created a layout and was wondering if anyone would like to take a look and see if I am on the right track.
Also, I was wondering if I should incorporate a reverse polarity diode in the layout.  If so, doesn't that just go between 9v in and ground?
Anyway, here it is.  Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Looks good so far.  The diode is an option IMHO.  I built May Queen on perfboard and it is one of my favorites.  My other favorite is the DOD YJM308 Yngwie Malmsteen Signature pedal which I perfed.   It's simple but sounds great.  The single transistor Joe Davisson East Drive (Simple Drive on GGG) sounds amazing for what it is too.

Hi and thanks for responding.
I was hoping that I was on the right track.  I was just trying to tighten up the perf layout that was on runoffgroove.com, and didn't know if there would be any issues.  I'm pretty careful about wiring, so I might blow off the protection diode, but then again, I salvaged a bunch of 1N4007's from a Mr. Coffee, so what could it hurt, right?
You know, I actually don't mind perfing all that much.  Granted, I've only done a couple of simple circuits, but I don't know how ready I am to start etching my own boards. (although I really am itching to try...)  I think at some point in the near future, I'm going to buy that starter kit from Small Bear and give it a whirl.
I've heard great things about the May Queen so I really want to try it, and I'm definitely going to perf it.  I've also heard great things about the YM308, so I'll have to try that too.  I'm kind of an overdrive junkie and want to check out a bunch of different ones anyway.  So far, I've modded the bejesus out of my SD-1 and it sounds fantastic, modded my wah, true bypassed my old MXR Micro Flanger, and built a couple of Red Llamas and a Green Ringer.  I think the Llama pretty much rocks for such a simple circuit.  My next big experiment is to put a Llama and Green Ringer in series in the same box.  From what I can tell, that's essentially what a Purple Platypus is, so I'm going to test that theory out.  Who knows, could be a great noise pedal on the board.
Thanks again,
Chris

I have built the Llama and Green Ringer also.  Two great effects.  The Easy Drive has a high end frequecy overtone that is nice.  For such a simple build it's something to try also.  As you can see I made a PCB for the Easy Drive and it was the first PCB I ever etched.  Start out simple I always say.  I used the Radio Shack etch kit and it worked good.

Hey, Chris-

Why not put up the Eagle files? It would make it easier for us Eagle users to play with it!   :D

Hi,
I'd be happy to.  How should I upload them? To the same place as the pdf I posted?

That'd be fine!

Out of curiosity, why all the upright resistors?

I'll have to put the board and schematic files up separately from what I can tell.  I stood all the resistors up because I wanted to line everything up easier, was that not a good idea?  I would have loved to have everything laid down for aesthetics sake, but being totally new to this, I couldn't figure it out.  Any input would be dynamite.
Email me and I'll send you the files, I couldn't figure out how to post them here.
