Actually there are some great ideas here but Im always looking for simple stuff and so I found this.
It works great, the gromett I think its called fits snuggly in the pot and on the shaft, it can be taken out anytime,but is stiff enough to stay on pretty much as long as you want. Maybe I got lucky with the dimensions, but it works!

Oh I was thinking about that too.  But was too shy to tell it (I was thinking it was maybe too "soft" solution).
I bet you have that "luxury car feel" when you turn those knobs now !!!
Thats a trick they use in psychological quality suggestion marketing...

I would totally have used duct tape.  Your little foam insert is cool though, Momo.  The rest of you guys are hard core.   :D
