Will this pot work?

So, I asked a question along these lines a couple weeks ago, got some good responses, which I really appreciated.
Here's the deal: I need a pot that will work well for an Ibanez WH!) Wah. It uses a 50K LINEAR POT.

I basically went on the hunch that it needed to be durable and long enough to hold the gear for the wah mechanism.
Here's what I came up with: 91A1A-B24-B18
Specs:
Conductive Plastic Resistive Element
Plastic shaft 3/4 inches long, diameter of 1/4 inch
Bushing is metal and 3/8 inches long, diameter 3/8 inch diameter.
That leaves 3/8 of an inch to shave down and make d shaft <--------- how difficult will it be to shave down, would a file be best?
Lastly, it's durable, 100,000 cycles.

I did a lot of searching seems to be the best I could find, and I spent a LONG time. I really just want to know if you think it will work out well. Thanks a lot!

yea, but this isn't an icar taper, or any other special taper, it's linear and none of those special wah pots, which are built for wah application, have linear tapers... I agree metal would be a plus but as I said I searched a long time to come up with this. I really just want to know would this work well, and, if anyone has any suggestions to a specific pot, that would also be helpful. But, mainly just a confirmation that "everything is gonna be okay".

everything is gonna be okay... I guess

Ding a plastic shaft sounds like an easy job... a file or sand paper should do the job

my two wah pedals (not made by me) just use 16 metal shaft alpha pots

I think the HotPotz II is probably close to a linear taper, why don't you just put a 100k resistor across the outer lugs to make it 50K?  It already is set up for a wah with the gear and all.  It's worth a try.

I am surprised I looked at those, they have a life cycle of like 25,000 cycles. In terms of a wah, I wasn't sure if that would last me a long time.

If this doesn't work out yeah, but yeah it's also quite expensive for a maybe. Plus, in my opinion I think the linear pot might have a lot to do with the wh10's unique sound.

BTW, I appreciate the prompt responses :].
