3205 same as 3005???

I am building the AD-3208 and received one 3205 and one 3005.  I wanted two 3205's, but this is what I was sent.  Is this gonna' be okay.  Are there differences here?  Should I  return the 3005 and ask for another 3205? Thanks!

They are functionally the same (they do exactly the same thing) and are sort of pin compatible, but because they use different polarities, you cannot simply stick one where the other one might go without changes to the circuit.  I strongly recommend that you keep your life simple by returning it in exchange for another MN3205.

If it's a polarity issue, can I not just flip it around the otherway?  Probably bnot, but I am eager to finish this project and am going to struggle waiting a week for another MN3205!

Sorry, but I have the whole thing built ad boxed and I am dying to test it, but I do not have the right IC.  Can I do something with the 3005?  Flip it, solder leads to it an run them to the correct spots in the board?  Just to test the pedal!

Well isn't there a way to use it if you have only one chip?  The circuit permits it.

If you have the BBD in the socket for the first chip (and I think that is the inner socket not the one closest to the edge), remove the 1uf cap linking the two BBDs and run a wire from the cap pad tied to the wiper of the 10k trimpot to the 10k resistor that follows the second BBD output (the one that is part of the 3-pole filter built around the 2N5088 at the top of the schematic).  Naturally, the 10k trimpot connected to the 2nd BBD should be out of circuit.

If you do this, you will have a single BBD analog delay.
