Hey guys, haven't been around here in a while...... but, IT FEELS GOOD TO BE BACK!!!!!! I'have a modded up TS9 that sounds perfectly tuned for my rig. I true bypassed it a la Keeley mods and did some crcuit tweaks and I absolutely love it. The only thing i wish I had though is a boost function in it, (kind of like what the Fulltone Fulldrive does) using the original on/off switch. Do any of you guys have any info on how to do this???? Any info or links would be GREAT..... SOME PICS ALSO!!!!! Thanks

Plus one on the request. One of those things I have been meaning to get to. I have the ad-9 true bypassed and that has the infinite repeats with the old switch. Always wanted to do something with my ts-9 after doing the same to that

That should do the trick....Hope the switch is a SPDT. ;)

Even easier way is to justr have to volume controls actually...

If you dont want to add a pot you could experiment with different fixed resistor values.

thanks for the diagrams but, I don't know if I'm just interpreting them wrong or what but, that looks like just a volume boost. What im looking for is a gain boost. I'd like to have the original drive control on the pedal at about 9 or 10 o'clock for a light rythm drive tone then kick on the old original on/off switch and have the gain FULL OUT for leads. I believe i've seen this before but I can;t seem to find it on the web. I should have bookmarked it when i saw it the first time.

I really don't see how you could do that, unless you kept the flip flop switching on the board. the switch is a momentary push button, and doesn't have enough poles to do in and out switching. it merely triggers the state of the jfets in the switching circuit by shorting one to ground while opening the other.

If you are handy, you can replace the momentary switch with an Alpha DPDT, which has a short throw. Connect it so it alternates between a 1M resistor and the drivepot on one side of the lugs, and the other side you'd might use for a LED, or just connect everything on the switch and run two wires back to the board.

It's a tough job getting the switch in there, but it's worth it.

The first mod (the one that Kurtlives suggested) is the one you want to do.
It increases the feedback loop resistance thus increasing the gain.
It's a gain boost, which is exactly what you want, right?

AC30Dirty

A gain boost is exactly what im looking for. The way jakehop explained it sounds pretty easy. do you have any pics or diagrams of what your explaining jakehop???

Why not just use the verified diagram I posted. Its the way Fulltone does it and works really well.

I think i'm gonna try the secong diagram you sent me kurtlives. I'm thinking about just putting a trimpot though since spsce is kinda tight on my pedalboard. I'll post here once I get it up and running. Thanks

be careful. i modified my ts9->ts808 for true bypass. i saw the leftover switch and thought of something cool to do with it. i temporarily set it up as a mute switch to do gating effects. i almost ALWAYS accidentally hit it when i want to toggle the tubescreamer, which isn't actually all that often now.

This is what you are wanting to do! Its a Keeley thing.

Darron,

How did you do the mute switch? I true bypassed my ts9 and that would be very useful for me.

Thanks.

even though i just told you not to :P

the little tactile switch is just a momentary SPST switch. so when you push it down it makes a connection between the two terminals. i just hooked the output from the jack to one end of the switch, and the other end to ground.

the output from the ring of the output mono jack?

from the output tip. then the other one goes to the sleeve of either jack.

I keep meaning to do something similar but I want to do what Keeley did -  have another volume control and switch between volume 1 and 2 for a solo level boost ... hitting a tube amp hard enough like this will give you a gain/distortion boost as well ...

I'll post what I come up with ...

That's quite cool actually ... never thought of doing that ...

AC30Dirty

Hey sevenisthenumber, THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS TAKING ABOUT!!!!!! I had seen that pic quite some time back and I meant to save it but I never did. Thats what i'd like to do to mine. Do you have any info on how he did it or how to do it???? Pics or a diagram would be great if you could!!!!!! By the way melanhead.... if you could come up with something that would be AWESOME as well. I modded a DS-1 and SD-1 according to your mods that I found here and i gotta say that THEY BEAT ALL THE OTHER MODS I'VE FOUND ON THE WEB!!!!!!  ;D
