Does anyone have any beginner tips for wiring and soldering turret  boards?  I just received a turret board for my Epi VJR, and I want to have a little knowledge before I jump right in.

Thanks in advance!

Stick your leads in.....hold your iron on the tuuret till the solder melts.

When I built my first amp (on eyelet board) I had no idea what I was doing. Within 2min I figured it out and was a pro though.

If possible, I like to only solder a point once.
Try to get all the parts and leads in a point, dry, then solder.
I find it easy to get globs of solder forming under the board because the turrets/eyelets can really eat up the solder.
Where does it all go?? Into your chassis  :icon_wink:

Metal standoffs for mounting to the chassis is a good idea with turrets style boards.
None of this adhesive plastic mount crap for heavy G5 boards!
It's time to buy a gun. That's what I've been thinking.
Maybe I can afford one, if I do a little less drinking. - Fred Eaglesmith

Check the Hoffman amps site. He has a nice writeup with photos on how to assemble and wire up turret boards.
