dragonfly "swirly" fuzz static

it sounds like the beginning of a scratchy record but as i dig in harder and harder the scratchyness seems to evolve into a pretty insane fuzz. other than the static, it sounds good and tuned. i had to use a 1k resistor in place of the 390 to bias Q2 and its wired for the high gain connection
8.33v
Q1 -  75 Hfe
Q2 - 212 Hfe

Q1 c - 1.35
      b - .586
      e 0     
Q2 c - 4.48
      b - 1.35
      e - .820
i substituted the input cap being paranoid that it was an NP. i also tried another Q2 w/ a 125 Hfe. any ideas are appreciated!

I would start by touching up all your solder joints. Just hit them quickly with a "once over" and make sure that you don't have any intermittent connections.

thanks but it hasnt left the breadboard yet and i have wiggled everything.
