FKR - finally it roars... but it has a sore throat.

Finally I came to the conclusion that my FKR wasn't working because I'd soldered a IRF520 instead of a 2n5458. Oh well.
It works. However there are several things which aren't working at 100%.
The gain. At some settings, when the gain is 50% upwards, sound stops. It only works when it's pointing straight up or below that. On other settings (by settings I mean different settings on the toggle switches), sound fades off when gain is near full throttle. The sound is gated and synthy.
The tone control doesn't work.
The lube control doesn't either. There's a noticeable different between Lube On and Lube Off, but when at on position, the knob is useless, as it sounds the same all the way.
On some settings, as I said before, the sound is gated, and when playing softly, the sound is.... strange. It sounds "something is wrong somewhere". Sometimes the sound fades out too quickly, sometimes it sounds just fine.
On stock Rat it sounds cool.... I think.

One other thing: the wiring on this PDF (http://www.beavisaudio.com/Projects/FKR/BAR_FKR_Mark_2_Build_Documentation.pdf) is a bit contradictory.
On page 4, the 'ground clip' connects to those two holes above the filter pads.
On page 6, it shows us clearly that the two holes above the filter pads connect to the OD clip...
Which one is correct?

Hi,
i had the same doubts about the wiring so i've folowed the schem and i think the schem is correct and it turned out well.

Pages 4 and 5 match the schematic, page 6 doesn't.
I'd double check the wiring of the lube and tone pots, a problem there is the most likely reason they don't work.

Ah, crap.
De-soldered and re-soldered the pot wires and the pedal does not work anymore. :icon_mad: :icon_mad:
