I scored a copy of Electronic Projects for Guitar via an inter-library loan and after a cursory glance it looks like a nice companion to Anderton's book.

Since I am only going to have the book for a limited time, are there any projects that I should make it a point to try?  Are there any I should avoid outright?  Nothing in it seems too groundbreaking information-wise, but are there any gems hidden in there?

The flanger project is really fantastic and you can even tune it too be a vibrato ...the only problem is the tda1022 or 1002 chip is no longer made(bucket brigade)....I think small bear may have them tho. Just the best flanger I ever heard. I may have to check small bear myself and build one..FOR MYSELF..I actually built one for a friend  many years ago and wouldn't you know it ..went to build one for myself and .."chip is no longer available". The phaser is really good too..and if you do a 10:1 mod you get a really good univibe thing happening. They use digital chips with no power going to them for the phaser...fets inside form a varying resistance like the phase 90..very cool pedal but you must strictly use the opamps mentioned or you end up with clicks from the oscillator.

I have the book and there's no flanger project in there. Unless there's another version of it. ???

I agree with the recluse it is in fact a good companion to Anderton's books.

Yeh there were two books by penfold...one basic ..one advanced...flanger was probably in the advanced.

I have a Penfold book. I'm not sure which one. I think it has a Dynamic Treble booster, and a Phase shifter. I'll take a look at see if it's got the Flanger if you are curious.

The is no flanger in the book I have, although there is a "Double Tracking Effect."  The dynamic tremolo looks interesting, as does the phaser.  I will finally have some time to tinker in a week or two so I will seewhat I can get into.

I think it's interesting that the bulk of the circuits in the book have very few pots.   It appears that most have one or two trimmers.  Sort of set and forget effects.

The other thing that was interesting was the tuner project.  I wonder how well it would work in use.
