What's the easy way to convert line level to guitar level?

I did a search and can find how to convert from guitar to line but what about line level to guitar level?
Is there an easy schematic?
Will a simple buffer work?

A volume control, actually, although it might make sense to stick a 600:10k transformer just ahead of the volume pot so that the line output device behaves itself.
