Can't find any live links of mp3 clips for the Golden Dragon.  Anyone have a link?
This pedal has legs and has been around for a while so I guess it's a winner!

Go to layout gallery and search for it...There's one there... :icon_wink:

I wasn't paying enough attention to what I was doing, Plus I was going to build it over the next couple of evenings and refine the layout

Okay I corrected and scaled it for perfboard so I can lay a copy of the layout on the perfboard. This Technique worked really well for my orange squeezer.

I just hope it didn't lose the scaling

Well I just dry populated the board and wow I did not realize how tight it was, I'll rework to have a little more breathing room Pics to come soon

I told you man...The components are crammed in such a small space, when you can use more space...

I use the 21-hole-limit, which is the max width for a 1590B

Also, crop the image of the perf and don't post all that white...
Also, use the vero layout and discard your version...(joking)

I don't like vero! all that cutting traces Plus I always have perfboard laying around and can get more in 5 minutes if I need to

with small circuits like this one i sometimes use perfboard and make the "stripboard strips" with solder and/or clippings; like you would in a perf layout.
works great. stripboard layouts are a lot more linear and tidy to solder traces...
and this way you won't need to cut traces.

i didn't want to undermine your thread nor your layout btw!!!

Renegadrian

Yes Charles, still your perf layout is a work in progress...Wait for the final layout then!!! :icon_wink:

(btw, I prefer vero...but I als did some perf...)

did anyone verify my layout?

i'd like to know if it's correct...

Renegadrian

I tried your layout back then, but had no success...maybe there's something wrong...So I desoldered the components from the board to recycle them for other projejcts...

that's not cool...
i'm very sorry.

doesn't seem like there is much interest, but if anyone wants to take a look at my vero layout on page 1, please comment!

Renegadrian

Not your fault, oviously... :icon_wink:
I put this project in the closet, now you took it off again, so I might check again your layout...
Thx for your effort

I heard the clip and I liked how it sounds so I put this together really quick using the schem here

I don't have any J201 otherwise I would have built it by now.

nokaster

one thing i must point out about my layout...

both transistors have the same orientation! that isn't clear in the layout...
maybe that's why it didn't work, i'm sorry man!

i think the rest of the layout is OK.

the last layout posted isn't good either.
inputcap doesn't go to S on Q1. it goes to G (middle leg).

Hi

pay attention to pins orientation, as far as I know S is almost always the middle lug at least i nJ201, MPF102, 2N5457, then D & G may be reversed, so, as far as the last layout is concerned, input cap look connected to the lug G of a J201 (as shaped top  to bottom are DSG).

Cheers

Have I been so stupid to not try to reverse them?

Definitely gonna try it again soon...

i stand corrected...
my layout isn't good then...
it is confusing... pinout versus schematic symbol of these Fets...

sorry guys!!!
