I was hoping someone could check this out, I know I have some cleaning up to do But before I go to far I would like to make sure that everything looks correct.

Esp If dragonfly could give it a look over since it's his scheme  :icon_redface:

Your output jack tip is going to ground and ring is going to "singnal".

I built a Golden Dragon a about a year ago and it has become my main dirt pedal. Its a great design!!!

Dragonfly

I'll try to look at it tonight. Its basically a glorified minibooster...

i'm pretty sure that you have the pin out on Q1 wrong. the source is the middle pin... also it may just be the way it's drawn but, c5 doesn't want to be connected to the C3/C5 junction. it just wants to go straight to ground and i don't think C2 is in the right place. it should go between Q2's source and gate not Q1's drain and Q2's gate. hope that helps. rylan

Let's try this I am not nearly as tired tonight and I got to work on it sooner

I am trying to learn how to get from scheme to layout

C4 needs to swing down so that one leg is connected to Q2's gate and the other to Q2's source. you have it connected to the source just not th gate. it's late but i don't see any other problems. rylan

MartyMart

Your J2 connections have tip and ring reversed, tip is audio and ring ( orange one ) is for
the battery earth connection, for power down when unplugged.

i love doing layouts for 3 reasons. 1st, i like doing things my way from start to finish as much as possible. 2nd, i've learned a lot from doing them. i don't get along with reading. it put me to sleep. by using my head and hands to draw the layout i can trick myself in to "reading" schematics/directions . 3rd, it's hard. whether you're just new to it or, trying to lay it out in a certain footprint/style or, it's just a complicated circuit. i like to draw my layouts on graph paper first then on the computer. i like to think that by doing it by hand first helps to prevent mistakes. generally i aim for the smallest footprint but, i'm starting to think about other aspects like neatness now. anyway good luck with it. rylan

Ok I think I have it now, except I am looking at how to make it smaller HE HEH

Here, try this, at Dragonfly's gallery pages. ;) It may even be at his own pages (see his sig)- sorry, Mr Fly, I haven't checked lately.

Reminder to all- a lot of the stuff we talk about can be found at www.aronnelson.com/gallery. A LOT of stuff. :)

as an excercise for myself, i did a small vero layout.
limiting the choice of caps to ceramics, i'm afraid...
it's very tight!

hope someone can verify it.

arawn

Ok i think this is as small as I can make this on Perfboard I'll be building it later this week

Charles, I had trouble finding C6 in your layout!!!
Anyway, you used no electrolytics, while Dragonfly schem has one 10uF at the gain pot (C6 of your layout) and one 100uF (it should be C3)

Also, why did you put all those components so tight? Do some of them share the same hole? I know we want it little, but not impossible to build...

Could someone please shoot me a schematic of this circuit,  I am blocked out of going to the layouts by my company(websense).  This happened about 2 months ago)

Thanks!

I chose nokaster vero layout, but I am missing some components, like a couple of res and the pots...Time to send my next order at banzai!
