I'm building one of these right away, I'm impressed with the sound samples.

Once again, here's my too-compact perf layout in my gallery. I like the small vero layout also above in the thread

http://www.aronnelson.com/gallery/main.php/v/Xaviers-shrine-of-noise/Layouts/Golden+Dragon.gif.html

It's a tiny 6x11 holes perf. BTW, nokaster, mine is smaller than yours, mine is smaller than yours..................er...............wait a second  :icon_confused:

My (totally) unverified vero layout for your consideration...

Suggestions/corrections very welcome!

Messed up the Volume pot wiring originally - fixed now!

Wily, it seems quite correct - the previous layouts were wrong about the JFET pinout...while the original schem drawn by Dragonfly shows the fets to be DGS from the top, actually S is the middle pin. So it had to be interpretated and not visually followed...Your layout is correct about pin orientation, for what I see... :icon_wink:
Had to try it, thx for the effort.

Cheers Adriano.  I'm just practicing reading schematics and the process of "building" the circuit using the Layout Creator has helped a great deal!

That s correct.

Fets are always shown in schematic form as DGS.. in reality they can have different pinouts...a NTE458 is DGS, a J201 is DSG, etc... :)

Just thought i would clarify for those who havent messed with jfets much....

Yes, Andy, surely it helps to refresh these simple notions...Sometimes you see a schem and try to make a layout out of it, and the usual jfet representation is somehow misleading...So you have to check the pinout first...I learnt it on my creations...

Willy, tried it on my breadboard but unsuccessfully..I know it's late at night and good guys like me shoud be sleeping, but damn I checked every piece 5 times...mmm...

EDIT
I just left out C5 in my experiment...I guess it should work anyway...It seems just a dc filter (am I wrong, Andy?!)

No joy with this layout still Adriano?  Will have to re-check it!

Thanks for trying it - I haven't got most of the parts to hand.

Willy, I am not saying its wrong, I just tried to put the parts in the breadboard following your layout - maybe I went wrong...Did you build this? Is your layout verified by yourself?

Not yet, but next in list after a Phase 45 and my Twincaster/Pentaboost beast are done.

Only my 2nd go at a layout so may well have made an error somewhere!  :icon_redface:
