Ok, I did a search and didn't find anything in the first few pages....

So.... I'd love to hear from all of you.

What is the one build that you had the most fun building, enjoy playing through the most, had the greatest sense of accomplishment or is, quite simply

Your Favorite Build!
(ps what about it is your favorite)

My personal favorite:

Runoffgroove's Matchbox    http://runoffgroove.com/matchbox.html

Why?  I absolutely love the way it feels.  It is unbelievably responsive and dynamic.  When I roll back my guitar's volume, my Strat sounds so full multi-dimensional.  Crank it up a little and it slices through with sustain.

Of course.... my choice will probably change in the near future - I suppose that's the fun of it all!

1. very intuitive vero layout, thanks to Cab42
2. very "forgiving" circuit, since I modded a number of components, substituted some, made some changes, etc. then stuck the whole mess into a metal enclosure (no wah foot-pedal). Worked first time.
3. terrible as a wah (as I modded it; probably a good wah if you go by the book), but with the knobs set just right it boosts treble and mid, to the point of light fuzz/distortion if I want it. Not only that, it makes the best vibrato/trem "shimmer" tone I've heard (e.g., Boss to Danelectro to Behringer).

I think of it as my Rangemaster-Fuzz-Vibrato. Favorite build.  8)

Pine box, seriously, it's what gets the comments, can't to a thing without it, best cabs ever IME.
Amps, can't do a thing without 1 'good one, 5w Recto probably favorite if played most counts.
Pedalboard...seems to have lights on most of the time, more lights, no lights [=buffer], Rossy Compressor has been staying on a lot, but 'favorite'...it works great cleans and then drives nicely..squashes too, but a booster and more attention to the RH is almost as good, can't call either 'favorite'.
The lead sounds I use, if built in 1 pedal would be 3, 4, or 5 stages, two of them capable of hard clipping.
FF...if I have only one pedal, it would be one with the Fuzz Face in it ;D,
FF or Tonebender sometimes show up alone for practice.
This topic reminds me someday I need to make an all in one, same order as the 2x step pedalboards w/16 pedals on it, try to shave that to say, 12, and say..more switching options.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

Wow, this could be hard.
I'd like to say one of my own designs, but my Tonebender MKII all fudged by me except for the matching GE tranny's from Smallbear just sounds too incredible to not be my fave, running a close second is a Rangemaster.
One trick ponies, but they just have that sound!

MadMac

I've built Hwy 89, Matchbox, Umble and Thor.

I think that the Thor is my favorite so far.

most fun...  ValveCaster
quick and easy (the circuit fits on the tube socket lugs)
and it sounds better than my expectations

enjoy playing thru most...  (umm, this is a tough 1)
DHs Firefly is way up there
its hard put the guitar down when im plugged into that thing

greatest sense of accomplishment... probly the Easy-vibe
i was one of the first to build it when John first put it out
(and i really wasnt ready for something that complicated yet)
it took me a couple of nights to debug it...
but when i did finally get it going, it felt sooo good and sounded great too

overall favorite
too hard to say...  but here are some that i really like and use a lot.   in no particular order

Supreaux
Highway 89
Flatline Compressor
Meteor
EA Tremolo
Big Muff w/germanium trans
Ruby amp w/Bassman mods

ALL THANKS TO THIS SITE AND ALL THE GREAT PEOPLE HERE

Neovibe!! I wanted a Univibe for years and just couldn't quite seem to get the cash together for one. When I got a few builds under my belt and learned how to etch pcb's, I got the courage to take it on. When that bastard first fired up it was probably one of the happiest days of my life, no kidding!!!
Runner up would be the big multi-effects box thing I built up with a Slow Gear, Bad Stone, CE-2 (super modded) and PT-delay in it.... man, I was almost certain that would be my last build.

+1. Nothing beats the first time I plugged it in and got that uneven, organic warble.

Since this is an impossible question for me I'll have to split it up a little and say :
Favorite perfboard build John H's Ultra Flanger.
Recent etched PCB Joe D's Shocktave.
When any project I build fires up for the first time that is my drug.  It satisfies the pleasure sensors in my brain and I enjoy it sooo much.  Even while I'm building it and before it's debugged I have a wonderful time.  Even some of the more simple builds that turn out sounding great, make me very happy.
I had a lot of fun building all of John Hollis's and Joe Davisson's projects.  Aaron has really got me thinking about the Jfet Vulcan next. :icon_biggrin:

My favoutite build has to my version of the Rebote2 delay:

I play in a band that does mostly '50s and '60s covers and I was getting tired of tuning my Boss delay between slapback for the '50s rockabilly stuff and a longer delay the '60s stuff.

So I bought a board from Tonepad, and I've wired mine with two sets of foot-switchable controls for time and repeat with a two-colour LED for visual confirmation of which one is selected. The time pots are different for each side so I can fine-tune the short side for slapback and have a nice long delay on the other set.  It works really well for the music I play.

whiskerbiscuit from rog I got a pcb from john lyons and swapped the 5088 for 5089's (wanted more Gain) awesome unique pedal and more a-- end than any fuzz i have ever heard. Plus i can still get that creamy late 60's early 70's fuzz sound out of it

Well, I loved the ROG Supreax pedal so much, I went and made myself a "Superfaux" amp based on the 16.  Then I built another. (ah, the joys of my "tape mod" Boss DD2, with stereo out. Heaven on a stick! :) )

Does that count?
It's your sound. Take no prisoners. Follow no brands. Do it your way.

Rebote 2, Uglyface. These are too much fun. If I had to choose one, Rebote would have to take it. It's just too practical.

You can use it anytime. BISAB 2 is pretty good. BMP is good too. There's so many fuzzes it's hard to say there's one that stands out.

My modded Uglyface with additional LFO - just keep on discovering new sounds and keeps me fascinated for hours on end. Run through an Easyvibe and Rebote 2 it gives incredible musical synth sounds.

My favourite distortion is without doubt the Shaka Tube with modified MBP tone control. The May Queen also comes close to the top of the list for the rich harmonic content.

squidsquad

Because I play a lot of surf tunes...my dual speed EA trem...modded so the mosfet boost is always on is a MUST.
And lately I'm still infatuated w/the Axis Fuzz.

tiges_ tendres

I think the Ugly face is my favorite build.  It's very versatile.  You can go crazy, or you can just get an awesome fuzz tone.

Yep, that one is probably my favorite.

Try a little tenderness.

My favourite is probably Moosapotamus's A/DA flanger clone. It's a great flanger and also covers a nice range of subtler chorus and phaser type sounds.

At the minute though I'm particularly liking stm's twenty two sevenths CMOS Big Muff workalike.
