hello guys, I am new and I live in Germany, and I want to build a effect device easily :-)

I searched for a while for a reel hard overdrive / distortion device.
It should be easy to build and I dont need a switch in it.

Like a box, Jack in, jack out, gain, volume.
The main thing is to build it with easy parts.

The sound should be very very overdriven / distorted. I dont need any "middle" or "low" overdrive.

thanks for help,

gaussmarkov

hello!  and welcome to the diystompboxes forum.

i suggest that you start with the MXR Distortion+ or DOD Overdrive 250.  it doesn't take much to make an effect that produces heavy distortion, if you mean square-wave clipping.

but you may be looking for something more subtle.  there are some popular heavy distortion projects that are more complicated (like the BSIAB2 and the Dr. Boogey).  "heavy" sounds also depend on how you equalize the signal at various gain stages and that makes things more complicated.

a lot of experience suggests that one should start simple, have some success, and then build on that success.  so my suggestion is to go for the Distortion+.

all the best, paul
