If so, can you take pictures of the component side of the circuit board, I can't seem to find pictures of the micro amp circuit board anywhere, just the schematic. BTW, I just wanted to see it out of curiosity. The pictures would be much appreciated! Thanks!

UA741CP in mine.

I don't know about the tl061, but am I right that the 741 is a single op amp? If so, that's interesting because in the pictures thread when i posted the breadboarded mxr micro amp i used a dual op amp and some people said they had always wondered why the schematics for the micro amp call for dual op amps because it's a waste. (I think that's what they said) Anyway, that came off in a very confused way, but yeah, I just wanted to make note of that.

Auke and Dragonfly hi,
Just planning to replace my mosfet booster due to annoying HISS....
Does your microamp a quiet one? When microamp set into level you desire and your not playing and the AMPLIFIER is set into mid volume can you hear any noise? HISS or HUM?

Appreciate your help on this :)

Roger

I just built one, finished it tonight, did not hear any hissing or noise when using it... it's a nice little booster.

it's a pretty clean, lifeless booster. Definately not my favourite. I just happened to have it ;)
However, the mosfet boost should be pretty quiet. Are you sure the hiss is caused by the mosfetboost?

I have the same problem with almost all my buildings hiss and/or hum, so, when they're ready to test, I bring them to my friend home, and when we use them there his garage, hiss and hum are not there anymore, but they're there again when I'm back to my home!, so it must be something in my home (earth connections) or it must be because I test them close to my PC (monitor, printer...), so I'd suggest to try with different setups in different places, don't give up  :)

Cheers

Guys,
At our practice venue also the same :-\
I even pull out the mosfet and power up the circuit and plug into the AMP with mid volume AMP is just the same level of HISS... I think it's not the mosfet... Before I never notice this but after band break and I left my amp still on then came back afterward and found out this hiss...When i get home i did re test with my 65w amp on mid volume set up and realize its the booster . I love this booster so much, it's different with SHO and mini booster that I breadboard before. I can cut through the mix with very sparkling solo.  I tested 3pcs bs170 and 2pcs 2n7000 of course different orientation but to no avail.
Tehfunk when you stop playing and your amp set to just mid volume and with microamp still turn on there is no hiss or hum? Maybe this would be now my replacement.

Thanks guy,
Roger

try the buckaroo boost or the sekovia power booster, or the old standby lpb. the rocket boost in yun's gallery is DEAD quiet, it is basically a rebiased lpb.
