A friend of mine wants me to make a pedal for him the only thing is he plays bass and I dont. Anyone know any cool pedals I could build?

I personally had some great experience using Valvecasters or SHO with the bass...

OK thanks guys. I also know a guy who just started a band and is desperate for pedals and stuff so I think I am going to be building alot of stuff!!!!!

What sort of sound/effect is your friend looking for?  What kind of music is he into / does he play, what's already in his rig, etc.?

So many cool circuits one could build.  Gotta set some parameters, at least so you know which build to start with.  :D

That said: I built a tube screamer clone -- except with larger input cap and a switch for sym/assym clipping -- for a bass-playing former bandmate who wanted to add some grit to his sound.  He seems to like it a lot...

Having heard our bass player - big muff all the way.

He's also using a 'Q-Tron' to rub some 'funk' on it every now and then.

A nice, tight compressor would also give more 'punch' if that's what your friend is looking for.

My Valvecaster on bass...

Plus it's easy to build, has a little components count and it adds the valve mojo, everyone goes "WOW"

You could build Bazz Fuss. It's ridiculously simple.
