help with pots on hot box build

Hello, I'm almost finished with a hot box clone.  Fired it up and it works fine (well, with an incredible amount of gain!), bypass and channel select switches, etc. all work correctly.  One thing, though, I seem to have reversed the wiring on the clean and distortion volume pots:  turning the pots fully counter clockwise gives maximum volume and vice-versa when turned fully clockwise.  I gather that I've reversed wiring on tabs 1 and 3 on the pots (just need to switch the outer tabs wiring connection?).  What I don't understand is why the bass, treble, and gain pots operate "correctly" when I used the same wiring sequence (see layout, www.generalguitargadgets.com/diagrams/hotboxlo.jpg).  Any ideas why this is the case?
