Easy Vibe LDR/tone issue

I saw a previous post about an issue with the easy vibe losing low end when the intensity is turned down.  I've found the same problem with a recent build.  I can dial in a nice amount of low end with the 1k trim, but at the expense of a nice swirl.  Seems the best swoosh is at a setting that's too thin in overall tone.  It would be ideal to get that nice swoosh an retain more low end.  My photocells are 10-20k to 300k and I'm using low intensity red 3mm LEDs.  I know the trim compensates for different cells but should I be using something that goes up into the 10-20 meg range?  I'm wondering if this will let more sway into the circuit.  By the way, I increased the input cap to .1 and it seemed to work nicely by letting in more bass but that bass dwindles when I get the swirl I like.

Any ideas?  thanks

The easy vibe doesn't really lose bass when the depth is low, it just stays too bright.  Anyone know how to maybe roll off the highs some?  I'm actually getting a pretty nice swirl...just need to tame that treble content.

Take the highs out of the Signal Path [like toward the end of the circuit..or] with a cap.
  or start with a .1uf or .01uf and a 100k pot or a 10k pot.
hook...say the cap to SP, through the pot, to ground...
  Adjustable LP filter.
Smaller pot makes the filter filter less when adjusted 'off'.
Larger cap rolls off more highs.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

I wonder if it would matter where I inserted the cap/pot pair.  Anywhere before the output?
