FSH-1 potential problem before powering up

Well as some of you will know I have had this idea on the 'to do list' for far too long.

So I started breadboarding the FSH-1 and its all there ready to power up, I also have the ropez phaser breadboarded ready to power up too, then the morphing will begin.

Problem being I have used the Tonepad layout........http://www.tonepad.com/getFile.asp?id=96

The thing is all the FETs are drawn with the get in the centre and I was of the understanding that the gate is offset to one side to show which was the drain and source.  I just know I will have got them the wrong way round sods law y'know.  I dont want to juice it up with this potential problem as it was a big enough pain to fit all this on a breadboard as it is I dont want to release the magic blue smoke from anything if I can help it.

Anyone care to take a look and let me know  whats what the score is with Q2,5+6 would be much appreciated

Do you mean on the schematic the gate is in the centre? If so that's just the way a FET is shown on schematics, drain at the top, gate in the middle, source at the bottom. It doesn't necessarily translate into the pinout of the actual device.

Q2 and Q5 have a  Gate Drain Source pinout, Q2 has the gate on the left Q5 is flipped so the gate is on the right. Confusingly Q6 has a Gate Source Drain pinout with the gate at the bottom, so you're either going to have to use a different FET or twist the legs to get the correct pinout.

Best thing to do is check the datasheet for whatever FETs you're using to make sure they match up.

Even if you've got the FETs in wrong I don't think the magic smoke will escape.

I know the pinout of my FETs the point was that generally I have seen them drawn with the Gate offset so that its over source, its instantly obvious to see which way everything connects.  putting the gate in the middle seems like a dumb idea lol
