Boss DM-2 weirdness. LED works with battery but not with wall wart?

I needt o replace the DC jack on a Boss DM-2. I carefully moved wire for wire (only three) and the unit works fine when powered by a wall wart but the LED does not light. If I use a battery the LED works fine. I'm a little confused by this one, any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I was moding my ce-2 a bit ago and had to re solder a lot of the wires. I could not believe how many broke off at the joint. Check the connections at the jacks. There could be one hanging on by a thread.

i believe it needs a 12v adapter, are you using a 12v wall wort?

No, DM-2 only needs 9V.
The first DM-2's used MN3005 BBD's that were selected for low distortion on 9V.
Later models used MN3205 BBD.
The latter BBD works OK even on 5V, so no need for 12V power supply.
