Hello,
I was wondering what font or what method people use to make the tick marks around their
Volume - Tone- etc?
Thanks

The link I posted was copied straight from my favourites - it works now! Guess it was just down for a few moments - or maybe EVERYONE was hitting it at once!

That must be that, and all those electrons flow collide at the same times near the server and create alpha and zeta particule...and finally a local black hole that create RF interference...and...Ok, i shut up!  :P

I have used Inkscape to do this: http://www.inkscape.org/doc/tips/tutorial-tips.html.  The really cool thing is that your tick marks can be any shape your heart desires.

mdh, thanks for that Inkscape tutorial, I'd been wondering how to do this in that program

Processaurus

When I've done it (in Illustrator), I looked up the rotation of the pots on their data sheet.  Unfortunately I don't remember what it is, but if you know that angle you can get the minimum and maximum marks to match up in real life, hot.

Actually, thinking about it, identical marks are pretty useless, as it's unlikely you'll photographically drill it into your brain which mark is the good setting.  Waste of brain space.  Numbers, or even better, symbols or numbers that have something to do with what the knob does, are much better...

IIRC it's usually about 300 degrees, so spacing the ticks out by 30 degrees means that your controls all go to eleven. </str>

Don't know what I'm doing wrong here.......but the outputted EPS file can't be opened by anything I've tried yet (irfanview etc.).......

Have you tried Inkscape, Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw or similar?  It looks like irfanview needs Ghostscript installed in order to open postscript format files.  Since Inkscape is freely available on all common platforms (plus the fact that I seem to like to talk up Inkscape in this forum a lot), I would go with that.

Tried it.......still nothin'........

I'll have to see if I can scare up a copy of Adobe or Corel in my stash......

Thanks Again, Dan

Got it.

Downloaded GSView and ghostscript. Works like a charm.
