Hello everyone. I am new to the forum and new to pedal mods. I have moded a DS-1 and that is about it so far. I gor my hands on a non working ds-1, hey it was free, and I thought I would take a look at it and see if I could get it working and then mod it too. When I opened it up you could see right away that the cap at c23 was literally blown a part and the diode at d1 was broken in half. It looks like someone plugged a power supply that was to big for it at some time. I replaced these with appropriate items, same values, and it is still not working. Any ideas of what could be done next?

Also I have a friend with a Marshall Jackhammer that needs a new switch. I have had trouble finding what switch is in it. Is it DPDT? DPST? Or even something else? Thanks for all the help and I look forward to the all the info I can gather on the site.

I would start by checking out the schematic and locating the various voltage points on the board and measuring with a meter. You want to make sure it's getting power at the right places. There's a debugging link above and a sticky right in this forum for what to do when it doesn't work.

Don't know about the Marshall pedal.

After you replace the blown parts, an audio probe will probably be in order (use the SEARCH function)...
