I'm debugging my Small Stone again (left it in a drawer for about a year) and for some reason I didn't socket the ICs when I populated the board. I'm just wondering if CA3094s are overly sensitive to heat?? I can't find anything else wrong with the board and I'm thinking that maybe one (or more) of the chips are fried. I'm pretty well versed in the art of soldering and wouldn't have applied a great deal of heat, so I'm wondering if maybe these ICs are more sensitive to heat than others? I'm really clutching at straws with this, I know.

Which schematic did you use? I read that the most common (Issue J) schematic has errors. Every time I think 'I've burned it out' it usually ends up being something else. Why not desolder the 3094 anyway, install a socket and put a different one in.

Notes: According to Jack Orman, "Pin 2 is marked as the non-inverting input when it is actually the inverting input.... it's marked this way consistently on the schematic. You have to feedback from the output to the inverting input (except for a Schmitt trigger). I verified this in the RCA data sheet for the CA3094 - pin 2 is inverting and pin 3 is non-inverting"

Cheers FC, I used the GGG layout and schemo so figured it to be a working layout since there are no notes there to say it might need correcting. I have 5 spare ICs so I'm planning on socketing them once I get the sockets (later today).
