Ok i built the hornet with a pcb from ggg and trannies and parts from small bear.... Built it 1st time negative ground and reversed polarities for PNP, didnt work.... used a positive ground configuration built it, didnt work... wired it up negative ground again changed polarities left the switch wired up from the positive ground config, and it works.... it works either way you turn the trannies, same rangemaster type sound???   looking at the top of the PCB the two trimpots on the left work the two on the right do nothing... I've tried everything from slightly on to wide open and configuration in between and i still can get any type of high gain sound, just the rangemaster thing.

by the way, trimpots nor sockets really fit the pcb from ggg.................. Im at wits end, been searching the forum to no avail................

check this out, totally weird.. I broke one of the legs off of the silicon tranny from small bear, went to my pnp silicon stash and grab an NPN 23904 (think thats right)  on accident, dont know how it got in there(im pretty organized), Ok i put it in like a pnp and this beast came to life........ massive amounts of fuzz with no splat or stutter, tremendous sustain... I gotta fuzz now when biased right can go from a self oscillating machine gun to a silicon sounding (with a bit more warmth) steroid freak.....

who wouldve known, I guess some of the best ideas come from mistakes.................absolutely love this thing :icon_twisted:

thanks mr. Lyons and mr. moore  for the info on wiring it up negative and reversing the poles

hope this piece of run on sentences and garb is readable :icon_mrgreen:
