I'm building the A/DA Flanger Clone by Moosapotamus.
http://moosapotamus.net/IDEAS/ADAflanger/ADAflangerBOM_files/sheet001.htm

The BOM states Q1 should be a 2N4393 n-channel JFET which I do not have. According to the datasheet this type is good as a switch. I only have the following n-channel JFETs that the datasheets tell are good as a switch:
- 2N5457
- 2N5458
- 2N5952

Other n-channel JFETs I have:
- BF245
- BF256
- J201
- MPF102

Which one is the best substitute?

Bump! sorry...
A J201 was suggested. In your opinion, would that be the best substitute for the A/DA clone noise-gate?

Mark Hammer

2N5457 is used in many noise-gate and compressor builds as a variable resistance to ground. I suspect that's probably a good candidate.  If you can find a 2SK30, that can also work.

I built mine with a J201 because that's all I had and it works fine.
