Anyone built succesfully R.G.'s Zonk Machine with Treble Booster project?

Hello,

I'd built this project (http://www.geofex.com/Article_Folders/zonkmach/zonkbst.pdf) a couple of days ago, but no sound from it (it sounds like it's muted by grounding the input)!
I've used a J201 for the FET of the Treble Booster. The germanium transistors was tested before in a well working Tonebender MK I and there are ok!
Measuring the voltages i got something very strange: all germanium transistors has E=0V, B=0.09V and C=9.15V (battery voltage)!!!
Looking at the circuit i saw that it's a little strange: the treble booster has a "false" negative ground coming from the Zonk Machine supply and the Zonk Machine has a positive ground!
I eliminate the FET from the booster and the voltages seems more normal, but no sound yet. Why???

Anyone can help me with a trick?

Thx a lot all!

I thought there were a few when I first did that.

Remember, that's all done from a schemo I was given. There may be some issues. Go in forewarned.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.
