Water Damage...

The Micro Vibe now has ~78% bypass signal, phases the same as before, LED dimly lights for bypass [used to turn off], I guess I'll start by trying the warranty.
And the Dist+ clone is true bypass, but the Distortion part has failed, I guess it's caps / opamp checking time.
Echo Park started working again  ;D.

My biggest problem is usually corroded battery snaps and hyper-oxide-electrolyzed input jacks... you know, when they turn all green.
Deoxit is my friend! Especially since my pedals usually live in damp basements and storage sheds.

Bill was hanging on to the stage roof frame [a metal frame / tarpaulin formed an upside down "J" wall and roof, yelling 'IS THAT ALL YOU GOT"...the thunder god answered by dumping 2 tons of sideways rain on him and blasting lightning bolts all around the lightning rod he had his hands on.
They "B'd at me to help, I replied "You need to move away from the lightning rod now".
All survived, a couple damaged pedals is small potatoes compared to loss of life.
The Echo Park was producing Echoes again today  ;D., DIST+ and Micro-Vibe damaged.
Only problems with the MV are when bypassed, tone sucking and pilot light goes only to faded brightness.
It was actually good to use just one 5e3 cranked through a greenback tone, I just had to avoid needing a hard-rock 'edge' tone.

Open them up and set them on a table underneath a ceiling fan overnight. I dumped a whole glass of water in the back of a TV about 20 yrs ago. Put in on the dining room table, turned on the ceiling fan and by the next morning it was fine.

What about if it's chinchilla piss ?
Yesterday I got a DC-to-AC module to repair that was dammaged like this.
This looks very corrosive...

  lol...
Echo Park is mutey sounding <50% output...but I may be able to get some ~service on it they're saying, someone around here might work on it...gave me a phone #.
Have to say the warranty that was thrown on the Micro-Vibe [just kind of appeared with my special order...1/2 after the fact, I decided to go ahead instead of re-doing the order...good thing too], the warranty is now a check in the mail for the Vibe pedal + the vibe pedal [do with it what I will.
I'd like to say I will fix it, but hard to say, it looks sort of work-on-able.
I looked at the Liquid Chorus / Delay pedal, appears to be pretty de-luxe and a good buy, I'd probably like that, particularly useful for me because it has two outputs, I didn't see any cheep delays there at GC, all were over 150, just the fancier lookin' ones shown. Unless I can get my Reverb to act right [started acting up and needin' hit to straighten up] it'll be a 'dry' weekend.

I don't think the EP will wash down the toilet very well..
A buncha stuff still works on it, The Echo Parks' led flashes, it echoes...rate and all the knobs work, just low output !
The Micro-Vibe just has developed bypass problems.
And I'm no expert at bypass problems [except I have a bypass loop pedal], no schematic, hard-to-read looking, wants to be upside-down circuit board...
I thought the Micro-Vibe was a regular true bypass, the switch looks like it could be, but the bypass symptoms don't sound like what a TBypassed switch would have...dim LED and low, de-trebled output.

But seriously, what components are more susceptible to water damage ?
I suppose that it's the components with mechanical contacts and the ones with semi-open cases (ex: a transformer)

What could be a kind of "procedure" to debugging those.
I suppose also that operating electronics (on power) could be damaged by electricity travelling through water and burning down some components (?)

I guess that buying effects that has been left in sheds by tired musicians would wave that kind of problem quite often...

I just recently read an interesting article about what to do when you drop electronics in water (i.e. cell phone in the toilet). They say make sure you remove the power supply and then put it in a bowl of uncooked white rice. The rice works as a desiccant and absorbs the water. Leave it in for at least 24-48 hours. A couple weeks ago my roof sprang a leak and rain poured straight into my new LCD TV. It quit working. I let it set for almost a week and didn't touch it, and it started working again. Amazing how resilient some electronics can be.  Good luck!
If it ain't broke...   ...it will be soon.

Ok !

First step you put your stompbox in a bag of rice;  (just like salt (?)); to prevent more damages.

Uruchi-Mai, Mochigome, Kokuho Rose: for Japanese. effects.
Uncle Ben's: for American effects.
Chinese effects: Jasmine.
Indian effects (commin soon) Basmati.

And then ?

  Yupp...A bit embarrassing to reveal...
They got soaked more than I thought, when I wiped 'em off they didn't seem like they were soaked through...excuses such as pressure to play on Sunday, and numerous 'tea-times' [ tequila pours / bottoms's up ^] the night before...and the fact they looked about dry enough to try...
  Shouldda known better.
I'm not at all certain this didn't prompt a long needed 40minute long 'cable around' to find the 'mucky' bypass...now memory serves or decieves me...the whole rig sounds cleaner with 3 boxes and especially the Echo removed [I'd been noticing 'funny stuff with that echo anyway].
The new chain routing [with 3 box/circuit type swaps] seems to be working very nicely all around.
The PHase 90 got a brutal debug...knock on wood still not malfunctioning intermittently...great phase sound.
I started plugging into the modded Vox 15w again for reasons other that wetness via reverb...nice amp !
Who knows what's up with the differences until it becomes blatantly obvious and can be replicated to do so on command [which is never...sorting through the cables/circuits/bypasses/etc.'s is the best we can do.

Pete,
Do like Doug H. told and try it in two days...  Maybe EVERYTHING will be OK.
Do you think that spraying with an alcohol-oil-contact-cleaner could help, (all over the board).
(Well, don't make Sushis with the rice after: this oil is not like sesames oil...)

Yours ! F.H.P.
