I know this is probably a stupid question, but how do you wire up an MTA .100" header that's closed without tabs - http://www.mouser.com/catalog/635/1349.pdf - obviously can't solder them in because the metal the wires slide into are buried in plastic.

Thanks.

The metal tabs are supplied seperatly, you crimp the wire on the tab and then stick it in the connector.

Cheers
It's supposed to sound that way.

What do the tabs look like, because there are already little metal slots in the header (though I know the product description does in fact say without tabs, so guess I'm just not totally clear what a tab is). Actually, reading the catalog page it sounds like the tabs are "polarizing tabs", so not sure if that's what I need exactly.

I was actually able to get the wire into the slots and was then able to bend them around the header in a way that they would hold.

Thanks!

"Polarizing tabs" refers to the way the connector snaps into the board mounted part.
All connectors I've seen so far have the metal tabs supplied seperate.
They are usually of the crimp-on type, using small metal tabs to bend into the wire.

It's supposed to sound that way.
