i was tired of putting up effects that i ended up not liking or that wouldn't work and it was too complicated finding the bad part so i decided to jump on the breadboard wagon (and besides, i'm getting interested in fuzzes so go figure which one to do without building 56 different pedals!!  ::) lol )

so i went to my corner "La Source" (former Radio-Shcrap) and found out their breadboards are on sale 96 cents! the wire jumpers in a little case: 96 cents! it was hard not to get them...

i then got a hammond slanted box for 10$ plus scap parts i had and made a "guitarist friendly" breadboard  :icon_wink:

the mini switch powers the whole thing, the pot beside it is a 1Meg pot connected on the battery + to see how a circuit reacts to a weak battery, full clockwise it's the full 9V and full counterclockwise i get 4.5V...  the led is a little luxury i wanted for when testing subtle circuits like clean boosters or compressor, the battery holder is outside to allow quick change and i'll probably need that battery for one of my pedals just before a jam...lol (yellow wire is IN and green is OUT, the red and black wires are ground (low row) and + (high row) the general layout of the wires matches the way schematics are usually drawn (ground at the bottom, 9V above, IN left and OUT right))

the adapter jack cuts the battery just like in regular pedals, and of course it's true bypass...  :icon_lol:

the thing about this is to be able to take it to a rehearsal place and check a circuit at high volume without too much hassle, now i just need to get a load of those PCB mounted pots in many values and a cap kit from SB!

Well done!

I may have to copy your idea now, due to the fact that I don't have a breadboard yet...

That look great blanik!

Very professional! And what a bargain.

But how does it sound? Will you be posting any soundclips?

Much better than my attempt:

wow, that's a board! you can do complex circuits on that thing

Looks neat, nice job.

One thing I never understood with these projects is why add foot switches? On my proto board I just have a little DPDT toggle. I keep the proto board on my workbench  and have wires running to my amp and guitar. I just flick the little switch for bypass.

I wouldn't want to step on a bunch of "flying" resistors and caps.

it's just to bring it to a rehearsal studio and put it with other pedals to see how they interact together and also at home when trying an effect i like to be able to keep playing while switching the effect on or off (to check sustain, etc...)

Those are both cool.  I haven't built a pedal in several years.  I have 3 breadbaords.  An Opamp distoriton, a multistage (mosfet for now) distortion and a CMOS 4049 board.  I can't really test things out very loud with it sitting in the bedroom/lab.

Now if you can just keep the toasted bass player from stepping on it.   :icon_cool:

cool tread! my breadboard looks miniature now..lol  i guess it'll be only usefull for fuzzes

of course you can use the pic

europe was fun, we played with Duchesses Says (they're very good live)

Congrats on that breadboard, really neat , something i never thought of was building breadboard on a pedal with all the jacks mounted. Great idea.
