Hi.

I'm thinking about putting together a buffer, but I have no clues on what circuit to use. I'd like it to be as transparent as possible. The fewer parts, the better. So should i go IC or transistor? Schematics are appreciated.

Good thing to do is type "buffer" in the search and read a bunch of posts.

Depends what you want besides, and how much current amplification.
But any active buffer output is going to be able to drive much more current than a guitar pickup.
They're all nearly 1:1 voltage amps, which = low distortion, IC reports: may sound 'cold or Sterile', mostly I use a Jfet or what is easiest to bias with the PS I have available.
