How can the gain be not so gainy?  I have too much gain from gain turned to min it has too much.  Is there a way to lessen the gain?  Like from almost clean(little gain) to full gain.(I don't mean anything with the pots(I tried that-gain still there all the time)

The only things making fuzz are all the diodes, so you could play around with different types i.e. Ge diodes might smooth the whole thing out.  Search for Big Muff mods - they are very similar pedals.  You could set up the diodes in the tonestack to be switchable.  Or you could put in a 20k pot set as a variable resistor between the diodes and ground.  This would allow you to dial in the fuzz a bit more.
