Too many choices...I'll place an order in the next day or so.

Thanks for the layouts Dragonfly!! Just wished you could make the pnp layout a higher resolution... I'm getting pretty rough edges when trying to print out.
Also that blue board is cool as hell...... is that the CEM material or FR-4?
I can make my own boards, but I will donate a dollar for each layout I use if I can get the resolution thing figured out. Thanks.

The layouts are small. When you scale them down the pixilation is not bad.
I scaled them at 300 dpi in photoshop and ran a filter, noise > median and that helped a lot.

The board was sold to me as CEM but it seems like FR-4 as far as drilling and cutting (hard).

Thanks, John. I appreciate the tip!! Also would like to mention I enjoyed your amp pictorial quite a bit when looking up pointers on building a 5e3 tweed a while back.

Nelson says that he would like to add his boards to this charity as well.
Here are the LAYOUTS he has.

Bluesdevil:
I forgot that I had to do some "pixel surgery" to the layouts...
I re did the text and tweaked the traces a little.
Glad you got something out of my site.
Sometimes I wonder who actually sees it...

Andy: Maybe you could add a higher resolution trace transfer somehow.
Since the trace transfer is only a 1/4 of the whole layout image it does get pretty
jaged! I guess I'm just used to tweaking stuff a lot.

I'll add this layout to the bunch for sale (unless steby has a problem with that.)

john

It's andy's lay out not mine.  ;)
And I DO post to reproduce.

Looks like I'll be taking a little stroll through Mark's Gallery... :icon_eek:

Does anyone know what the difference between Marks "Pro-Vibrato" and "Vibratone" layouts is?  I'd ask Mark but he's sometimes hard to reach.

So is the Vibratone on the menu of available boards?  I think I could be persuaded to purchase one of those.
Love the "lava-lamp" style PCB blobs!  Psychedelic, man!   :icon_mrgreen:

John Lyons

David, yes...anything in Nelson, Mark M or dragonfly's galleries are available.
The prices vary. (some boards are larger than others).
The Vibratone board will be $15.

REALLY....    :icon_mrgreen: :o :icon_twisted: :icon_exclaim: :icon_cool: :icon_idea:

I think there's a PM in your future, my man -- and a Vibratone in mine!   :icon_cool:

Okay John, I'm gonna have to go for one of those Astrotone pcb's. I'll send you a PM.

Now how do I get one of those round enclosures?
"I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you."

John Lyons

I PMed you back Doug. I'll cobble up a board for you.

The enclosure is aluminum and I added the phenolic top (just to be clear).
Mick Farlow makes the round boxes.
Search for his name and PM him to see if he has any currently.
He's also got a thread or two in the For Sale section here.

Here are what the actual boards look like.
Would I be able to get any of these boards into a 1590A enclosure. I have a few hanging around.
Mesa RK II
Ibanez RG570
Ibanez AR-300
Schecter Hellraiser
Gretsch G5120
Guitar>Bad Horsie wah>FullDrive 2>Boss OD-2>EHX POG2>Ernie Ball Volume>Amp
M9 in loop

John Lyons

These boards are small. They are just about 1 3/8" at the longest side.
I don't know what the internal dimentions of the 1590A are.

I am interested in picking up the MXR Distortion+ from Mark M's layouts. Does anyone know if this can also be used for the Micro-Amp (since they are kinda the same)?

Thanks.

John Lyons

I'm pretty sure you can build the Micro amp on the same board.

It could also be noted that you could build a Bazz Fuss on the electra distortion board by replacing the emitter resistor with a jumper, omitting the hard clipping diodes, swapping the bias resistor with diode, and using a 100k collecter resistor

PROGRESS REPORT.
So far we have a whopping $13 to donate to the Muscular Distrophy Association!
Lotsa different boards here folks. It's a good cause and you know you want to build more!

Thanks to everyone who has ordered boards.

Dragonfly

Thats awesome John !

Though $13 may not seem like a lot, EVERYTHING helps !

I look at it this way - if I were walking down the street and saw $13 laying on the ground, I would just walk on by saying "meh, it's only $13".

THANKS to all those who have bought these so far, and to those who will purchase them in the future.

John,

I got my boards today, they're beautiful and thanks to Andy to the ultra cool layouts.  These rad designs  on blue boards are totally going to increase the mojo factor.  I can almost hear the improved tone and better harmonics  already ;D
