Anyone found 2.5k 16mm pots?

I can't seem to find any 2.5k 16mm pots for the Dr. Boogie scaled tone stack.  Mouser has a Bourns with a minimum order of 230...I only need one!  Digikey's got nothing.  Neither do Small Bear or PPP.  Has anyone else found these anywhere?

My alternative is to use a 2k pot with a 500 ohm resistor on one side, probably on the ground side (lug 1).

What you want is a 5K pot with a 5K resistor across the town outer lugs.
5K divided by 5K is 2.5K  :icon_biggrin:

Hmm...that's a sort of variable bridged-T without the stem of the T?  Outside of the 0% and 100% positions, that's not going to have quite the same behavior as a true 2.5k pot, but probably close enough, I guess.

Digikey carries a line of CTS pots that include a 2k5 with audio taper. The downside of these is the 1/8" shaft.

Yes, it's not perfect...
The alternative is to use a 5K pot and adjust the cap to match.

Hmm, since the mid pot is passing one side of the bass signal I'd be concerned about the side-effects.  No biggie, the taper will definitely be affected by putting a resistor in parallel with the pot, but the full range of adjustment will be there.

John Lyons

It seems to work fine in the boogie circuit (parallel 5K pot and 5K fixed resistor).

You might be able to do something with a fixed resistor from the wiper to each outer lug.
2.5K from wiper to each outer lug. That would get you an "S" curve, reverse log to log shaped curve.
Not sure if that would be better...have to try it.
