Ack... I'm sure I could figure this out, but I'm a bit panicked since I feel there may be something going on that might damage my wonderful new neovibe. I decided to make an outboard pot control for JC Maillet's offset mod to have sort of a faux 'ramp' control. (EDIT: more of a 'swing' control than a 'ramp' control.) It works great, but... for some reason now the signal is going through ground and I don't know where in the h*ll ground is going - it's going hot signal goes where it's suppsomewhere though because I've got a fully functional circuit as long as I don't have my jacks mounted in the metal enclosure (shorts out the signal). The unit sounds as expected and just as it did when I was trying it out with alligator clips, etc., while the rest of the unit was intact. Basically the only thing I did was take out the trim pot, put in some resistors along with an outboard pot to tailor the range of the offset control. I'm using the same power supply if that makes any difference.

If anyone has a spare moment to consider this, I will worship you forever. :-D

Forgot to mention that it works fine in bypass. The hot lead and ground go where they're supposed to and the ground lead meters continuously with the metal enclosure.

Fixed. I'm dumber than I thought. My pot placement was not, shall we say, optimal, and it was shorting against the leads on my chorus/vibrato switch. Sorry for bothering you guys!!!! I'm still not 100% sure how the circuit could have remained functional with such a short, but now I know it can happen. :) :) :)
