9-to-18-volt convertor

This looked like something that folks here might find interesting. Its a simple voltage doubler that I found while troubleshooting a friends Yamaha active bass.

Here's Yamaha's take:



(Note: Yamaha uses little up/down arrows to indicate the +/- 9-volt outputs.)

The TC7662 chip has been superceded by the TC962. Here's my take with the newer chip:

So, it's not really an 18v supply but a +/-9 v supply?  Still interesting and handy.

Right, but you could use it as an 18-volt supply just by isolating the convertor ground, and using the -9 as circuit ground.
