Modded Ross Compressor?

I am building this and was wondering if a 500KA (not reverse log) will work ok? 
And, the volume pot is Linear?(according to the schem)

Sure you could use it but, the Reverse Log works better.

Which schem?  You haven't shown one. 

...well shoot looking at the schem's I have, it doesn't say now does it?

I use 50kAudio on the level and 500kLinear on the Sensitivity.

For the Sens/Sustain knob, I've tried both and I like the standard linear taper better.  It's just about taste really.  If you like your sustain/sensitivity to clamp down early on in the pot's travel, then use reverse.  If you like to ease it up more gradually, use the standard linear.  That's my .02
