hello everyone my name is will and I'm new to the forum some of you I feel I already know you in a way cause I've read the forum backwards from page 902 to 185 lol I want to thank this forum for giving me more of a desire to see some personal goals through. With the help of the new free layout software from bancika I've been able to layout my first pcb layout and just bought most of what I need to start etching my own pcbs so far so good. I can't wait to get started I'll share my layout with you it's not a pedal that's coming next it's a simple circuit for me to add a square wave lfo to circuit bent toys I wanted to try something simple first and I think I'm hooked :)

Hi, and welcome.

I know you haven`t asked for any advice but I thought I`d give some all the same  :). By tidying up a few traces and making the PCB smaller you will use up less etchant.

Good luck.

Hi and welcome!

Nice first post, sharing that layout.

I have some questions. I do not work with Bancika's DIY Layout creator, but are there any reasons why you made the layout as it is?

I quickly changed it in Paint ;), you'll notice the differences:
-I don't like jumpers.
-I like to keep the board as small as reasonably possible.

(the pcb can be further optimized, this is just a quick sketch up)

  Hey / Welcome !
Cool to see an LFO a'la carte'.
Surprizing to see an LFO layout offered as a first post topic.

the reason I used the layout like I did was I'm adding screw terminals for the pots and vactrol output for an end user. To add this kit to a circuit bent keyboard, synth project or whatever so the kit will enclude the pots circuit board wire switches and knobs, but the less soldering for the user the better so I added screw terminals. The longer traces streching across have to be that long cause it's a led and photocell shrink wrapped to make the vactro. It's an odd part but works well. I noticed in my layout though I need to add more space the boarder actully touched all the outside traces so I had to cut them with a hobby knife to break the connections ahh live and learn the only thing I see I can change on my layout is this, but wasn't sure how the bends in the traces would come out it was my first toner transfer I actully just bought the laser printer yesterday lol but for 150.00 I got everything I needed I have my laser printer my staples photo paper my muriatic acid and peroxide and so forth it Works this process is so rewarding
