Bad switch?

So.  I wired up a pedal, the standard way with the 3pdt switch.
When I would hit the switch the LED would quickly flash, but wouldn't stay lit.
I unsoldered the neg end from the top center pole of the switch and ran it straight to ground and the LED would work fine (although, it would just be on, not switchable since it isn't hooked up to the switch)
I even tried an extra LED and decreased my original LED resistor from 2.2k down to 1k and still, the same thing.
I was figuring I had a bad switch maybe.  Has this happened to anyone else, or is there something that I may be missing.?

P.S. The pedal works fine, it's *just* the LED.

When LEDs get fried, they light up nice and brightly for a few moments and then go dark.

Maybe you fried your LED.  In which case you may want to try with another LED and start out with a 4k7 resistor so that the LED is drawing less current and posing less risk to itself.

BTW, it this a 9v battery you're powering the whole thing with, or is there a missing tidbit in there like "I'm powering my pedalboard off a 12vdc wallwart"?

Just to get this out there, I don't know if you know this, but decreasing resistor value = more current = higher chance of killing LED.

Sounds like you disconnected the LED from the switch and the LED works on its own.  That points to the switch as the culprit.

Evad Nomenclature

Yeah.

I disconnected the led from the switch and it worked fine.
I just hate to have a bad switch since they cost too damn much *_*
Haven't been home, i guess Ill have to give it a quick test when I get home with the meter.
