VB-2 vs CE-5 as vibe

Well It looks as if I may be trading my VB-2 ( its not in mint) for an electric sitar. I like vibrato more that chorus and I picked up a CE-5 ( analog version) cheap a bit ago. I am putting a plug in the B output and I am using it as a vibrato. It gets closer to the vb-2 sound than the Ce-2 with vibe mode IMO.
The vb-2's slowest setting is compairable to 1 o clock on the ce-5.
The depth knob on the ce-5 shouldn't get past 12 o clock or it just sounds like your bouncing back and forth between 2 pitches and keep the mix knob and the filter knobs on max.
It seemed like the slower the rate the more you have to turn the depth down to get in the vb-2 range.

My guess is that if you were shooting for a vb-2 sound out of a ce-5 you would need to do a speed mod , nothing too drastic and need to get the oscillator to distort.
I have read that the VB-2 oscillator distortes. My guess is the extra harmonics are what make it sound richer.

Honestly I don't know much about oscillators but from what I have read that seems to make sense.
Hope that helps any of you guys looking for the vb-2 sound.
