Hi every one ,

I modded my big muff's tonestack to have a mid scoop (normal big muff) and a mid boost (gilmour's sound) but maybe another good mods exist ?

I found this page but i don't know if these mods are good.

I'm looking for mods to give more fuzz personality and more "grit" ( I don't know what other words use  ;D) (for me, the big muff is more a fatty distortion)

So your opinion what good mods can correspond ?

i thinks maybe :

replace the standart diodes by led or other diode/mosfet  ? what sound ?
increase the emitter R to reduce the gain ?
increase some cap values ?
change transistors ?

thx

I am trying to add some versatility to my pedalboard!

Mess around with the big muff tone stack in the calculator you get for free from duncan amps, then you can sculpt your tonestack to exactly what you want. I've made excellent use out of that software.

yes I used this software to make this mods. my tonestack's resistors are 27K so I changed the cap to 4.7n and 10n to have a mid boost.

I can make a graphic if you want.

So any ideas for another mods ?

I made one awhile back where I put LEDs in the first clipping stage and silicon diodes in the second, it came out thicker and less buzzy than a standard one.

yeah but it uses Ge transo too for the 2 gain stages. Maybes some cap values change too.

What sound produce led in the first gain stage ?
