ok so I did the indyguitarist vintage mod to my boss ds-1 and added some mojo orange drop caps and a video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ufgmg_UcnhM i really like the gain the clean sound of the led but id like to have slightly more useful tone knob any ideas?

this is a mod for a bass guitar suited tone stack (as well as other bass-oriented mods) but it will give you an idea of which caps to play with and the directions to go in changing them.  I did it on mine and the tone control has a better feel- it's not as all-or-nothing as the stock version, but it definitely is suited to bass guitar.

r17 6.8k to 1k metal film and the input cap after switching to .033 im going to go play with the value of c11 some more

Download the Tone Stack Calculator from Duncan Amps. It's free. It has a number of tone control circuits, including the BMP. You can change values and see the effect on tone response. You can input the stock values from the DS-1 to see how it behaves and go from there.
