I have to ask what's in the Altoids tin?

Only thing I've seen them full of is either Altoids (obviously), or cigarette butts...

thats just a splitter to keep the tuner out of the signal path...i had to do something with it  ive  also got a really sweet tobacco tin thats gonna be a home for a pedal.
