Any way to get more bass from the Fat Boostered?

I built a fat boostered this week and it sounds great, but the bass control is a little too subtle. Is there anything that can be done to make it a little more flexible?

  Try making C9 a .1 cap. If that's not enough make C2 a 3.3 uF

The stock circuit ( http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/diagrams/joam_sc_fb.gif ) does not actually boost the bass.  Rather it limits the bass via C9 and permits more of the original bass to pass unaffected via the C8/R9 path.

So, if you wanted to make the bass control have more apparent effect, you would actually want to decrease C9 to something like .01uf, so that when R9 is set to max resistance, less bass gets through.

Seems to me, though that this is not what you want.  If you crave a "bigger" bass than what you started out with, one way to produce it is to insert a passive midscoop filter between C3 and the volume pot.  This will eat up a bit of signal, but will create a bigger contrast between mids and lows, such that when you use the modded bass controlto cut the bass and restore it, you'll notice the change more.

Check AMZ ( http://www.muzique.com/ ) for some ideas on how to custom design the scoop for what you want.

Mark- thanks that really clears things up for me. I just want the control to be less subtle, more tweakable- but not necessarily louder bass.
