Hello,

I want to build a Dirty Bird using this schematic: http://www.moosapotamus.net/THINGS/dirtybird/dirtybirdSCH.gif.

Here i can't find easy NTE parts, so i'm wondering if it's ok to make the following substitution:

1. NTE85 <=> 2N3904
2. NTE112 <=> 1N5817
3. NTE778A <=> RC4558/TL072

Thx a lot!

The  NTE85 has a different pinout than the 2n3904, but will probably work electrically... the NTE123 is the traditional substitute for 2n3904/2n5088/etc. The 778A will work for a 4558, as will almost any dual opamp, and the NTE112 has a slightly higher forward drop than the 1n5817 but will probably work fine.

If it isn't broken, take it apart and fix it!
