So i got a trem from a friend that someone...  down the line has hand made. It doesnt have a name anywhere and the board is justy hand etched. It uses three transistors and an opamp chip???

What are the possible designs that this could be?

I'll make a stab at it.  A Pulsar?   I'm not positive though.

IIRC, 39k resistor, opamp+3transistors, totally a EHX Pulsar

whats intriguing is that third pot  ???
and the extra switch

sevenisthenumber

the third pot is a voltage sag.......

the second footswitch toggles between two speed knobs....

kinda different

This pulsar layout from tonepad uses 2n5088's. This one i have has 2n3904's.  Is this an issue?

Seems like this is a HARD trem. I cant get it to be subtle. Could this be the cause?

+1
concur.  That's a Pulsar.

I made a Pulsar about 5 or 6 weeks ago and it definitely is a hard trem.  I get very hard trem with the switch engaged and not very much at all in its other position.
It's unique, but not very useable for my tastes.  On a side note... isn't a voltage sag on a trem pedal a little... I dunno, useless?

I've never tried it, but I'd have to think it would be.?

oh yeah and btw.

I'm glad I finally get to see someone else wiring that's worse than mine lol.

your right about the wiring! its crazy bad. looks like a monkey did it.

i get hard trem when switch is down and throbbing hard trem with a thump when its up. what could be the issue?

the voltage sag seems to be the makers attempt at making the trem softer. Seems when its decreased the depth does as well. At this point this is a very useless trem for me unless i can tame the hard trem and thump...

My only suggestion (and I only know this by someone else's suggestion and me toying around with stuff)
is that you can try swapping the opamp/trannies to change the sound maybe.
The pulsar does have a pretty unique sound, as you said very choppy ( and I think thats how its supposed to be)
I did swap some of the parts in mine to which made a difference, but overall its still mostly the same thing.
I dunno, just try it and see if you get any results.
