Hello Everyone.

I dunno what to do. I just finished designing a 2 Faces PCB, and I'm not sure if for optimal noise performance I should add a ground pour either in both, or just bottom face.
(If someone would like to advice me about something else about my PCBs, I'd be glad to hear it)
Here are some pics of both options.

That looks a nice PCB, 2 things im wondering about,
You have some resitors under the 2 jacks , will there be enough clearance under the jack sockets for the soldered leads (i assume the components will be mounted on the underside of the pcb.
Will you be able to etch the boards yourself or will they be sent to a pcb manufacturer.

I'm also wondering what the effect will be ??

Thanks ICE-9 for the answer!

The resistors are mounted on the top side of the PCB, just as the rest... I bought a bunch of Marshall Type jacks from Ebay that have enough room underneath, I tested, and they fit ;).
No, is a pretty hard PCB to DIY, since it has very narrow traces, and SMD Opamps. I've been working with a local PCB manufacturer here in Chile, they are quite pro, I've done some simplier PCBs with them and the results have been ok.
The effects is a Bass Distortion I've been working on for that past 6 - 7 months. I actually quited my job as a telecommunications repairing technician, for starting (a dreamed job!!) my own bass pedals business, so I'm kindo loosing my mind designing different cool stuff for bass (and some for guitar).

Thanks again for the answer!

I have done a few PCB's like this with SMD components and small traces and it is quite possible to get excellent results on a home made basis single sided, but double sided i would also get a manufacturer to make them for me.
I use those Marshall style jacks in my pedals as well. I will check mine as i could use the extra space for components as well.
I usually use the bottom layer of the PCB for the ground pane/ fill, but there is a thread here about if its best to use a pane/fill ground or full star grounding.
Its nice to hear that you are doing this as a "dream job" and i wish you all the luck in success with this.

Thanks for the words Ice-9!
Yeah, it's been a very interesting and stressful time, cause I've had to work as freelance technician at the same time...
But designing is for sure what I love most (even more than playing... please don't tell anyone :icon_redface:).
To play through some gear putted together with big effort, research and hard work  feels just too great hehe.
About the PCBs: I'll just use the the ground pour on bottom side, I think is less risky that way.

Some more comments?
