It's an HT-0095 crimping hand tool. This thing is obscenely expensive.

I was hoping to find one from China or something...

It's for crimping Mini PV terminals onto wires that go in headers.

No, sadly not a typo.  And that is the cheapest I've seen them.

I could probably get one custom made for a fraction of the price!

It's crazy.

WOW!
We have like dozens here at work......god I love my job....all the parts and tools needed all around me.
$800? We have a huge electro-mechanical one for crimping giant power cables that wasn't $800!

The pins it's for are like the ones that come with EMG pickups... you know the connector on the bottom?  I'm using the same type of pin header on my pickups.  You have to crimp the pins onto the wire.  I have 5 pins in every connector.  It's a real pain, and I have to use small pliers and stuff.

I'll check into that connector, though I don't think it's the same type... but it might work.

Have you looked at someplace like Mcmaster-Carr?  I don't know if they have exactly that, but they might.

I just looked at the EMG site and the connectors they show appear almost identical to these:

The $17 tool is made specifically for them.

Yes, I tried them.  I love McMaster.... I order lot of stuff from them. If I order in the morning I usually get my oder the same day since they have a shipping center in NJ!

I made a 5 pin connector in the time it took me to do one pin with pliers!  :icon_biggrin:
